Application
Designed for suction and discharge of water, sand, fine gravel, light slurries, and sediment in light to medium dredging operations. Common uses: small gold dredges, pond cleaning, industrial slurry removal, sand transfer, and irrigation suction lines.
Construction
Tube/Cover (integral): High-quality, flexible PVC (polyvinyl chloride) – smooth bore for minimal flow resistance, clear or translucent for visual inspection of flow. UV-stabilized for outdoor use.
Reinforcement: Rigid PVC spiral helix (or optional galvanized steel wire helix for higher durability) – embedded in the wall to prevent collapse under vacuum, provide kink resistance, and maintain round bore.
Cover characteristics: Abrasion-resistant, oil-resistant (limited), water-resistant, and flexible.
Performance
Working Pressure: Up to 150 PSI (10 bar) for smaller sizes; larger sizes typically lower (40–100 PSI)
Burst Pressure: 2–3 x working pressure
Vacuum Rating: Full vacuum (29 in Hg) – helix prevents collapse under strong suction
Temperature Range: 0°C to +65°C (32°F to +150°F) – not suitable for hot materials or freezing conditions
